Creating spaces that breathe with nature
Look, we're not gonna feed you some corporate line about 'revolutionizing the industry' or whatever. What we do is pretty straightforward - we design buildings that actually make sense for the people using them AND the planet we're all living on.
Started back in 2015 when a couple of us got tired of seeing the same cookie-cutter developments going up around Vancouver. We figured there had to be a better way - something that didn't compromise on aesthetics just because it's sustainable, y'know?
Now we've got a small but solid team that's genuinely passionate about this stuff. We argue about window placements over coffee, get excited about new insulation materials (yeah, we're those people), and honestly can't imagine doing anything else.
Forget the stuffy process charts. Here's what really happens when you work with us.
We actually want to hear what you need, not just push our own ideas. Your space, your vision - we're just here to make it work better than you imagined.
Every building sits somewhere specific. We look at sunlight patterns, wind flow, the trees already there - basically everything that makes your site unique.
Construction docs aren't glamorous, but they're crucial. We stay involved through the build 'cause that's when designs either come alive or fall apart.
No surprises, no runarounds. If something's gonna cost more or take longer, we'll tell you straight up. Honesty's just easier for everyone.
A bunch of design nerds who care way too much about angles and materials
Founding Principal
Been in this game for 18 years and still gets a kick out of seeing a plan come together. Sarah's got this thing about natural light - she'll spend hours tweaking a floorplan to get the morning sun just right. M.Arch from UBC, LEED AP certified, but honestly more proud of the three net-zero homes we pulled off last year.
Design Director
The guy who questions everything (in a good way, usually). Marcus came from commercial work but got hooked on residential when he realized how much more personal it is. He's obsessed with adaptive reuse - loves taking old buildings and giving them new life instead of tearing 'em down.
Senior Architect
Jen's the one who makes sure we're not just dreaming up impossible stuff. She handles all the technical details that turn pretty sketches into actual buildings. Former structural engineer, so she knows what'll stand up and what won't. Also makes the best pour-over coffee in the office.
Sustainability Consultant
David's the reason our projects actually walk the walk on sustainability. He knows every green building material, every energy system, every certification process inside out. Sometimes has to rein us in when we get too excited about an idea that's not quite practical yet.
Interior Specialist
Rachel thinks about how spaces actually feel, not just how they look in renderings. She's big on flow - how you move through a building, where your eye goes, all that stuff. Can visualize a finished space better than anyone I've met, which is super handy during client meetings.
Junior Architect
Fresh perspective from Tom, who graduated just three years back. He's way better at 3D modeling software than the rest of us and keeps pushing us to try new tools. Sometimes his ideas are a bit out there, but that's exactly what we need to stay sharp.
Here's the thing - buildings stick around for decades, sometimes centuries. That's a long time for something to either enhance people's lives or make them miserable. We take that responsibility pretty seriously.
Sustainability isn't just a buzzword we throw around to sound good. It's genuinely baked into everything we do, from site selection to material choices. But we're also realistic about it - perfect is the enemy of good, and we'd rather build something 80% sustainable that actually gets built than design a 100% theoretical project that never leaves the drawing board.
We also believe architecture shouldn't be this exclusive thing. Sure, we love talking shop with other architects, but at the end of the day, we're designing for regular people living their lives. If we can't explain our choices in plain English, maybe they're not the right choices.
Vancouver's our home, and we're invested in making it better one building at a time. Sounds cheesy, but it's true. Every project's a chance to add something meaningful to this city's fabric.
